Court TV Being Rebranded; Some Court Coverage Goes Broadband

A few months after gaining full control of Court TV, Turner Broadcasting is remaking the network in its image with a new look, logo, name — the works based on extensive research. The rebranding is slated for Jan. 1, 2008. Part of the rehab relies heavily on broadband: The core of Court TV will become the daytime programming block inside the new network; at 3 p.m. eastern, when it switches from courtroom to talk shows with Nancy Grace and Star Jones, the court coverage will switch to broadband at courttv.com. The primetime block will be geared to reality programming aimed at a group Turner execs call “Real Engagers” skewing slightly male. No details yet about how that block will be handled online. Release.
— As for TNT and TBS, no streaming of The Closer, I’m told, but most of the networks’ original programming and syndicated Family Guy will be online after the initial network run. The networks each already have a broadband channel: DramaVision for TNT and LaughLab for TBS.
