Guruji.com has launched local language search in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada, in a report t in the Economic Times that incorrectly calls Guruji India’s first search engine.
The Guruji.com site still features English as the default search feature, and works only with Internet Explorer at present. Local language content seems to be cached. Guruji.com also features an on-screen keyboard for each local language, much like Raftaar.com created for their Hindi search. Guruji hasn’t yet expanded their city search to local languages, though.
Guruji.com has received $7 million in funding from Sequoia Capital.
