Rediff Announces Unlimited Storage Space For Email

This is a good move from Rediff, which is trying to be relevant in the highly competitive horizontal portal space. The Mumbai-headquartered portal has announced “unlimited storage space” on rediffmail. A statement said that the “unlimited storage space on rediffmail is powered by an innovative technology, which is not only scalable, but also cost-effective”. There are no details, though. It’s also not clear if the unlimited storage space is applicable to business mail users.
rediffmail was relaunched last year with offerings in in 11 Indian languages, and other features like instant preview of mails and attachments, drag & drop facility for mails to any folder, search for emails or attachments and auto-completion of email addresses by simply typing a few characters. The unlimited storage space is a great strategy to further userbase.
Currently, Gmail offers a little less than 3 GB and Yahoo Mail 1 GB.
