Industry Moves: Belo: Shive Now President And COO; Cass To Oversee Internet; Jackson Promoted

Belo has promoted Dunia Shive to the positions of president and chief operating officer. Shive, 46, has served as president of Dallas-based Belo’s media operations unit, the AP reported. She will continue to report to Robert W. Decherd, Belo’s chairman and chief executive, who also had held the title of president since 1994. The position of COO is new.
Belo, the publisher of The Dallas Morning News and owner of 20 TV stations, also announced an expanded role for Donald Cass Jr, now EVP overseeing the company’s internet and business development activities and Wesley Jackson has been promoted to president and general manager of Belo Interactive Media.
Cass, 41, had served as Belo’s EVP for media operations since February 2006. Jackson, 36, was SVP/general manager of Belo Interactive Media. Release
