Earnings: Trinity Mirror’s Profits Fall 14 Percent

Trinity Mirror, the UK newspaper and media group reported its 2006 full year results, and a difficult ad market saw for a 13.8 per cent drop in pre tax profits to 185.4 million GBP, the company said. Total revenues fell by 4.8 percent to 1.03 billion GBP despite the launch of 240 new websites and six new newspaper titles.
Independent: The regional papers saw advertising revenues fall by 5.7 per cent. It is in this business that most of the digital revenues have so far come from, as it is classified advertising that has gone to the internet most wholeheartedly.
