–Amp’d has launched Lil’ Hollywood, the follow-up to its popular series Lil’ Bush. The release says parody series will feature “Hollywood’s hottest celebrities”, but it’s really those stars who generate the most shocking headlines, for example: “Lil’ Mel Gibson, Lil’ Paris Hilton, Lil’ Lindsay Lohan and Lil’ Scientologists like Lil’ Tom Cruise and Lil’ Travolta”.
–Luxury travel website Concierge.com has created a version of the site for use on mobile phones…features include: insider guides to nearly 200 destinations; Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List of the top hotels and resorts in the world; weather forecasts, and travel images that can be downloaded as wallpaper for your phone. They’ve gone the sensible route of device detection, so people just visit Concierge.com on their handset. (release)
–Sega America is teaming up with Finnish mobile game developer Universomo to develop titles based on existing Sega console IP, reports Modojo. There’s two titles in development but they weren’t named.
—-Modojo also has an interview with Neil Haldar, the VP of Content Programming and Strategy for SkyZone, a mobile game development company which disagrees with the idea that the future of mobile gaming will be purely casual. “Half the audience is women gamers… but there’s this gut feeling we’ve got about that other half of the audience that just plunked down $200 on a high-end TV phone with the multipixel cam, and he’s gotta be thinking ‘block game? I did all this for a block game?'” It’s a good move — you’re not going to beat the big guys at casual games anyway, so you may as well gamble on something different.
