SEGA Bringing Classics to Mobile

In a move to get some more use out of their classic properties, SEGA has signed a deal with Universomo to bring their older games to a newer audience. According to Mobile Industry, under the terms of the deal, Universomo will not only take over duties for porting games but also for design and development. SEGA has said that there are currently 2 games in development and are scheduled to be released this Spring.

This is a good move for SEGA considering they hold the titles to some of the most beloved franchises in gaming history. If there’s one thing that game companies love to do, it’s get more money for something that they’ve already produced, and for some reason, people still buy Sonic the Hedgehog games. Though already in the mobile market, SEGA is looking to expand its business. This should be an interesting move if they can get the pricing and distribution right.
