Although I am personally not a fan of Air Deccan website (looks cluttered, and takes longer to download), this is one deal that could help Travelguru a bit in the cluttered e-travel market. Travelguru has partnered with India’s largest budget carrier to sell hotels and travel packages through Air Deccan website. So since some of those who book tickets on Air Deccan website may also search for hotel packages on the website, that will bring in that much needed sales push for Travelguru. Air Deccan also gains since it will get to keep an undisclosed share of the revenues.
Captain G R Gopinath, MD, Deccan Aviation, said: “It is our constant endeavor to bring down the cost of travel by driving up ancillary revenue. Partnership with a leading travel portal like Travelguru will bolster Air Deccan’s ancillary revenue creation, which has always been a focus area of our operations.”
It’s not clear if it’s an exclusive deal between the two.
