Industry Moves: Conde Nast International; Shopzilla Changes; Netflix COO; Xbox

– CondeNet International, the digital arm of Conde Nast, has appointed Stefano Maruzzi, the former director of international strategy and content at MSN, to the newly created role of president. He will be in charge of the development of CNI’s portfolio of 58 websites and all new media activity conducted by the company in territories outside the US. He is based in Milan, Italy.
— Netflix COO Bill Henderson is exiting the online retailer just over a year after joining the company. VP of IT Development Andy Rendich, an eight-year Netflix veteran, will become interim head of operations. Also, Rose Einstein has joined Netflix as VP of advertising, where she will oversee advertising on the company’s red mailing envelopes. Einstein reports to VP of content Ted Sarandos.
— Two longtime Shopzilla executives will leave the company’s day-to-day operations, parent Scripps said, with another senior executive taking over the top job. William Glass, who has been COO since October 2005, will succeed John Phelps as president. Scripps acquired Shopzilla in June 2005. Phelps and Farhad Mohit, co-founder and chief product officer, will assist with the management transition. After that is completed, Phelps will leave Shopzilla and Mohit will become chairman emeritus.
— Microsoft is bringing on Don Mattrick, former world-wide president of studios at EA to help advise its Xbox business. Mattrick will work with Microsoft VP Peter Moore and his team — although not as an employee — the company looks for ways to make more of its games successful. Normally we’d skip what looks like a console move but there really is no such thing anymore given Microsoft’s current emphasis on connected entertainment.
