US-based Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) has picked up 51 per cent stake in FrameFlow, a three year-old animation and visual effects company with production facility in Chennai. Following the deal, FrameFlow has been renamed as Imageworks India. The deal size is reportedly valued at $5 million.
FrameFlow LLC, founded in 2003, has offices in Atlanta and Los Angeles. The company has a production facility in Chennai, which employs 80 people. FrameFlow has worked with SPI on movies like Click, Ghost Rider and Spider-man 3.
