Openwave has bought out mobile web solutions firm WiderWeb…the acquisition provides Openwave (NSDQ: OPWV) with an open internet browsing solution that re-formats web content for mobile phones in standards-based XHTML/MP format, the company said. The buy price is $5 million in cash and a potential $4 million contingent earn-out.
WiderWeb technology will be integrated into Openwave’s mobile gateway infrastructure. More details in release.
