Limited spectrum means proponents of mobile TV are looking at higher frequencies which are more expensive, reports Reuters. “On Thursday DVB Project said at a news conference at the 3GSM mobile communications trade show it had approved the technical specifications for S-band, opening an available high spectrum across Europe for mobile television broadcasts.” Meanwhile, the European Commission is looking at using the L-Band for the service, but that would cost 2-3 times more than the UHF service.
