Mobile phone users are perfectly comfortable with receiving advertising messages on their handsets, according to Orange parent France Telecom. Search and advertising director Jean-Benoit Van Bunnen told 3GSM attendees: “Customers are telling us they’re open to advertising, it’s part of their daily life and they can get benefits out of it. We are just finishing a survey based on customer data [but so far] customer reactions are absolutely positive, with caveats. Customers are telling us ‘we are ready to see more advertising on mobile’ – not an issue.” Van Bunnen said mobile users’ main concerns were “don’t spam me,” “don’t interrupt me” and “don’t mislead me.”
