Searchles, a Washington, DC-based social search site, has secured a second round of angel funding, Tech Journal South reported. The amount of the funding was undisclosed, but TechCrunch says total of two rounds was $900K. Founder and managing partner of Ruxton Venures Mark Walsh, along with original, but otherwise unnamed investors participated in the round.
Walsh is also the former head of software firm VerticalNet. Searchles also released new group management and collaboration features Wednesday that lets users decide if they want open participation, where anyone can join, or by invitation only. The site itself evolved from the search engine Dumbfind, developed by Searchles founder and CEO Chris Seline.
