Nokia disses Exchange and BlackBerry servers: offers Intellisync server

Nokia_logo_2Remember way back in 2005 when Nokia bought Intellisync? Yes, we almost forgot too, but we just got a nice reminder from CNET. Nokia is finally taking the wraps off their own mail service offering this week, providing an able competitor to Exchange and BlackBerry mail servers. Nokia will over their e-mail service not just to Nokia phones, but initially to over 120 J2ME-supported devices, which is a smart business move.

If you want to support virtually unlimited users with basic e-mail support, the basic service will set you back $2,999. A professional version appears to be priced on a per-user basis ($129 each) that adds calendar and contact synching as well as full e-mail support.
