More relief for those looking to book railway tickets – the IRCTC have signed an MOU with BPCL to sell e-tickets at BPCL petrol pumps, reports the Financial Express. The rollout plan: 38 petrol pumps in 7 cities to begin with, 100 locations by March end and they intend to hit around 7,700 end of 2007. There’s an additional charge of Rs.40 for a sleeper class ticket, and Rs.55 for AC. More here.
Alan Saracevic of the San Francisco Chronicle is in India, and he writes that Sify will enable railway ticketing this Saturday (tomorrow). More on his visit to the Sify HQ in Chennai here. We’ve written to Sify for an official confirmation of the date and the rollout plans.
Now what if mobile ticketing for railway tickets is launched?
