We don’t cover a lot of editorial moves but this one stands out … Meredith Artley, who has been the International Herald Tribune’s digital development director, is the new executive editor of latimes.com. Artley is leaving the New York Time Company after 10 years in online journalism there, first as associate editor of nytimes.com and then for four years at the IHT in Paris. At latimes.com, Artley will head an online editorial staff of 30 to start. She’ll play a pivotal role in the plans announced just two weeks ago by LAT Editor Jim O’Shea: she arrives as the site is undergoing a complete makeover that includes expanding staff and more integration with print. More details in the LAT’s story.
