India Today Group’s new radio initiative Radio Today Broadcasting plans to rope in a foreign investor, reports Indiantelevision.com. The company may sell about 20 per cent stake to a foreign strategic investor or an overseas media company. Radio Today has licences to operate in seven stations.
This is the second attempt at the radio business for the India Today group. It had sold its earlier radio business Red FM to a group of investors which included Value Labs, Malaysia’s Astro and NDTV. Red FM was present in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Radio Mid-Day is another company where a foreign partner – BBC – has a stake.
