We’ve written a bit here about the ongoing saga at Apple involved back-dated options and faked board meeting minutes. Now the company is reporting via its 10-Q SEC filing “informal requests” for more information and documents on its past stock-options practices. This still could all wash away but it looks like the iPhone might be competing with a federal investigation for attention over the next few months. The info comes under the heading of “risk factors” (one of my favorite sections in most reports): “The resolution of these matters will be time consuming, expensive, and will distract management from the conduct of the company
