UPDATE: Earnings: Verisign’s Mobile Content Revenues For Q4: $90 Million

Verisign, which earlier this week did a restructuring of its business units, has reported its Q406 earnings…and the relevant portions for us:
— Within its Communications Services Group, the Communications and Commerce group generated revenues of $113 million, including $17 million from Messaging services.
— The Content group generated revenues of $90 million (compared to $89 million in Q306), which includes $72 million for Jamba/Jamster B2C services and $18 million from B2B services.
Also earlier this week, its Jamba unit’s majority sale to News Corp was also finalized. VeriSign received approximately $188 million for the sale.
UPDATE: I’ve gone through the transcript of the conference call… The sale of 51 percent of Jamba to News Corp will be finalized at the beginning of this year, so all the revenues from Jamba were included in these Q4 earnings, but for the first quarter of 07 Verisign will only include revenues from January, and then 49 percent for Feb-Mar. Jamba revenues fell year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter, dragging down the overall revenue (in the third quarter of 07 Jamba had $73 million in revenue). On the other hand, Verisigns mobile messaging business is growing well: “We did see strong growth in messaging services during the quarter as we delivered over $13 billion SMS messages, up a 140% from the year ago period and 20% sequentially. Premium messaging and MMS volumes in the quarter were up 50% year-over-year to $88 million messages as we provided the interactive voting services for several of the fall TV shows including Deal or No Deal.”
