@ SIIA: Multimedia Business Models; Traditional Brands Online; More

Listening to MarketWatch’s Jon Friedman moderate a panel on multimedia business models — no conference is complete without one these days. My session is next so will have go to the tape to write up most of this one. A couple of points for now:
— Cyrus Krohn, director of content production, Yahoo Media Group, said the most-viewed video on Yahoo of late was a “60 Minutes” feature on the world’s most beautiful woman. Yahoo users spend more time with the CBS show online than they would with an actual segment of the broadcast show.
— The NYT’s Nicholas Ascheim spoke of bad reporting for video — he meant traffic as in metrics, some people in the audience assumed he meant journalists and he had to explain.
John Blossom has more.
Update: Many thanks to Jim Spanfeller, president and CEO, Forbes.com, and Jeff Price, president of SI Digital, for bringing their different perspectives to a conversation about traditional magazines going online. Jim also put on his IAB hat when the discussion turned to the need for standardized, meaningful metrics and the possible effects of Ajax. John Blossom has the play by play.
