ErinMedia, a TV ratings started started by Florida real estate tycoon Frank Maggio, has received a big $25 million venture round from an unnamed investor. It is going up against the behemoth, Nielsen Media Research, and has been granted a new U.S. patent, the sixth of eight claims it has filed for its proprietary methods of modeling TV audience ratings from digital set-top data.
The new funding will be used for upgrading erinMedia’s hardware and software systems, to hire additional staffing, and for marketing.
