Busy Week In NYC: SIIA, Always On And More

Last week, San Francisco for one of our best mixers yet; this week New York for the last conferences of a jam-packed January. I’ll be at the SIIA Information Industry Summit — covering speakers including Time Inc. Chairman Ann Moore, DJ CEO Rich Zaninno and RBI’s Tad Smith. I’m also interviewing two of the key players in creating online financial news destinations with traditional magazine roots: Jim Spanfeller, president and CEO, Forbes.com, and Vivek Shah, president, Digital Publishing ,Time Inc. Business Finance Network. The Wednesday afternoon session is called “Transitioning Traditional Business Magazines to Digital Publishing.” For the first time, SIIA starts the summit with a preview day Monday — very deal-oriented with Fred Wilson as keynote.
Meanwhile, I’m going to do my best to stop by AlwaysOn Media NYC but our main coverage will come from our New York journalist David Kaplan. Be sure to say hi.
Oh, and as luck would have it, my hotel turns out to be the headquarters for Microsoft’s launch of Vista. Like I said, a busy week.
