I accidentally stumbled on this ad in today’s Hindustan Times. India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched an education portal called Sakshat. The site is accessible from today. The idea is to provide an online forum for students to have interactive sessions with subject experts. Currently, there are sessions for Class XI and XII. And the sessions start from 5 pm to 11 pm for subjects like physics, chemistry, maths, English and so on. One needs to log in to access the website. The ad says login is guest1 and password is guest1. (If they have to give this out publicly, then why keep a login?)
The site looks poorly designed, and some of the links don’t work. All said, it’s difficult to navigate. Why should CBSE start an education portal? It’s like TRAI starting a telecom service – or something like that.
