Earnings: Netflix 4Q Revenue Rises 44 Percent; Hopes 5K Online Movies By Year-End

Updated below: Reporting mostly positive results, Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX), said its 4Q revenue was $277.2 million, up 44 percent, while GAAP net income was down 61 percent to $14.9 million. Consumers were still flocking to the movie rental company, which ended the quarter with 6.3 million subscribers, an increase of 51 percent year-over-year. And income before taxes was $23.8 million, up 493 percent compared to the same period last year.
