EBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) reported a 24 percent increase in 4Q net income, pointing to a positive outlook across all its businesses. Revenue for the quarter rose 29 percent to $1.72 billion. The San Jose, CA-based company said net income was $346.5 million, or 25 cents a share, up from $279.2 million, or 20 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
— Its main Marketplaces business brought in revenue of $1.2 billion, a 24 percent increase, while the PayPal service grew 37 percent to $417 million on total payment volume of $11 billion.
