A survey by Satama has shown that Finns are pretty high users of mobile content and services. Some stats for the general population in 2006:
–Twenty-five percent of respondents had accessed websites with their mobile phones
–The use of MMS messaging grew from 29 percent to 41 percent.
–31 percent had used their mobiles to react to programmes or advertising on TV or radio, up from 26 percent the previous year.
–45 percent had received marketing communications on their mobile phone.
For the 24-35 year old age group, 61 percent had received marketing communications on their mobile, 38 had used a mobile to respond to advertising in other media and 47 percent had used their mobile to access the internet.
These are pretty good numbers, but they don’t give an indication on frequency. If a quarter of the population accessed the web on their mobile and 90 percent of those decided never to do it again, that’s not very good. But it does indicate they at least know it’s possible… Release
