– Nick Johnson has been tapped as as VP, digital media sales for NBC Universal, MediaPost reports. In his new post, Johnson will be responsible for digital sales for NBC, CNBC, NBCSports, USA, SciFi, Bravo and Access Hollywood. Johnson, who was recently VP of ad sales at Reuters, will report to Peter Naylor, head of NBC Universal digital media sales.
— Allbusiness.com, who just lost its CEO Peter Horan to IAC, has promoted Kathy Yates to be its new CEO following the departure of Peter Horan. Yates joined AB in 2005 as COO, and previously was president and COO of MarketWatch.com.
— CondeNet named two new executives. Jane Grenier will take the publisher post at the teen site Flip, set to launch next month. Grenier was previously associate publisher of marketing for Teen Vogue. Dee Salomon was named SVP of sales and marketing for CondeNet’s Internet division. Salomon’s previous title was SVP and MD of Style and flip.com.
— Disney-owned Buena Vista music arm has hired Martin Morales, a former European head of content for i-Tunes, to run its European business. Disney said Morales’ knowledge of the digital market would help as it seeks to strengthen its business throughout Europe.
— Video sharing site Metacafe has added three new execs: Mort Greenberg, formerly VP of media sales strategy and development for IAC, was named VP of sales. Allyson Campa was hired as VP of marketing. She was CEO of Bravanta, and VP and GM of MySoftware. Bud Colligan was appointed executive chairman. Colligan co-founded Macromedia, and took the company public as its CEO.
— Former AOL Canada founder and CEO Steven Bartkiw has joined MedStrong as president, CEO and director. The company plans to develop a Web 2.0 business platform and social networking site under Bartkiw’s watch.
