As it prepares to undergo a major restructuring, VNU announced today it is changing its name to The Nielsen Company. Last May, Amsterdam-based VNU, the parent company of Billboard, Adweek and The Hollywood Reporter, was acquired by a consortium of private equity investors for $9.7 billion after a takeover struggle.
The company already has plans to cut around 4,000 jobs, or 10 percent of its total work force. David Calhoun, The Nielsen Company
