Silican Republic has reported another bullish prediction about the uptake of mobile TV…Understanding & Solutions has predicted that annual revenues from mobile TV and video will increase 800 percent between 2006 and 2010, achieving combined global revenues of US$1.8 billion, not including revenues from advertising, sponsorship and so on. I guess a lot of this increase will come from mobile TV, which was only launched in a few markets by 2006 and will move into others over the next couple of years. The analysts reckon that interactivity and community will be big factors in mobile TV uptake, with formats like talent contests, quizzes, music television and events being popular.
