The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India plans to set up a consumer grievances website, reports The Financial Express. Apparently, TRAI is not armed with law to take up individual complaints, but it can take up complaints of a group of customers. So the website will be a forum for consumers to post their complaints. Most complaints regarding mobile services are believed to be related to billing, metering and refund of security deposits.
TRAI chairman Nripendra Misra told FE that the regulator could take action against erring operators by using the complaints of any group of individuals posted on the website. A good move, indeed.
