India Second Most Expensive Place To Buy iPods

India is the second-most expensive place to buy an iPod. A 2GB iPod Nano in India costs $222.27. India, however, is better off than Brazil which is the most expensive place for an iPod with the same 2GB Nano version costing $327.71. This is according to Australia’s Commonwealth Bank, which has used the Nano as an index (CommSec iPod index) to compare global currencies and purchasing power in 26 countries. This is along the lines of the Big Mac index launched 20 years ago by The Economist magazine.
Canada is the cheapest place to buy a Nano at $144.20, while the US is the foruth cheapest with $149. In China, where the iPods are manufactured, a 2GB Nano costs $179.84. More here.
