In case you’ve been wondering where Reliance intends to spend their $100 million, apart from the money to be spent on the development center and games, it seems they’ve also budgeted for prizes. They’ve launched a multiplayer chess game and announced an online Grandmaster Championship with Rs.1 lakh as the first prize. The game was launched by two of India’s chess stars as brand ambassadors – World Junior Champion Koneru Humpy, and Asian Junior Girls Champion Tania Sachdeva, and the competition begins on the 1st of Feb. I just tried the game out and there are 220 users playing at present. Interestingly, one can also watch the games being played. A sponsor page also before the game does. Any guesses for how much they’ll dole out for the multiplayer cricket tournament they’re planning around the World Cup?
