Syndicate Buys Control Of TV Tech/Data Company Decisionmark Control; Name Changes To TitanTV Media

Decisionmark changing ownership, names and, it appears, focus. The company announced Wednesday that a syndicate led by Turnstone Capital, CBC New Media (Capitol Broadcasting) and a multi-billion dollar institutional investor has acquired controlling interest from Gazette Communications and that it now will be known as Titan TV Media. The name Titan TV comes from the company’s upcoming broadband portal/service, which promises the ability to watch content from anywhere on any broadband device at any time. The company also plans to launch the “TitanCast” Content Syndication Platform this spring; that service, based on territorial exclusivity, will connect “content owners, national and local advertisers, and local broadcasters to viewers in real-time.” Founder and CEO Jack Perry wrote on his “Chief Titan” blog that most of the content would be free for viewers. He didn’t say how much the syndicate paid for controlling interest. Headquarters will be in New York, not Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Gazette is based. Release.
— Decisionmark was built on providing technology and data for the broadcast industry. Until, has been used primarily to let people know what channels they can get in their area and which antenna to use.
