Mobile TV chipset maker Frontier Silicon has raised $31.3 million in financing that it will use to support its planned mobile TV and digital audio solutions. The financing round led by Mitsui Private Equity along with Cheyne Capital Management and Plutus Capital Management, all new investors in the company. The round was supported by existing investors Apax Partners, GLG Partners, ACT Venture Capital, Alta Berkeley and BlueRun Ventures. The UK-based company claims to have shipped over 1 million integrated circuits for mobile TV enabled cellular handsets. Release.
