The Bridge Mobile Alliance, a group comprising of nine operators from the Asia Pacific region, has launched a mobile WAP travel portal called ConciergeGo. ZDNet reports that travel information is currently limited to “eight Asian markets and 13 major cities, including Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane), Hong Kong, India (New Delhi, Mumbai), Indonesia (Jakarta, Bali), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Singapore and Taiwan (Taipei).”
Content includes the city specific information for tourists on the weather, sightseeing, shopping, dining, events. Also provided is information on embassy contacts, emergency numbers. The monetization? Local promotions.
