Global online travel giant Travelocity.com would launch its webiste for India in February, reports Bloomberg. The company, which booked $7.4 billion of travel in 2005, expects India to be one of its three biggest in Asia by revenue in a year. It operates in six markets in Asia, and India will be the seventh.
Also India will be the first Asian market where it will use the name Travelocity. Everywhere else it uses the name Zuji.com.
Indian online travel market is crowded with almost half a dozen domestic players which include MakeMyTrip.com, Yatra.in, Travelguru, and Cleartrip.com.
