Spectrum Talk; So When Is the Auction?

Some telecom updates.
From The Hindu: Newer applications on 3G might not have the bandwidth they require, and reserving spectrum for few players is wrong, says Hamid Ahmadi, Chief Architect of Motorola Inc, at Comsware 2007 in Bangalore. India will probably get a hybrid network. Also, Idea Cellular is conducting indoor WiMAX trials in Pune, Bangalore and Kochi, and has already sourced equipment for 3G.

From Business Standard: Both Rajesh Chharia,President of ISPAI and T V Ramachandran,General Secretary of COAI have called for sensible pricing of 3G spectrum, lest it become too expensive. Chharia has criticised the delay in decision making, which could eventually end up making the technology to be deployed, obsolete.

I’m wondering when DoT intends to auction spectrum.
