One of the highlights of this year’s Macworld was a Q&A with Hollywood’s Kevin Smith, the acclaimed director of Clerks, and Clerks II. Everyone expected Smith to talk about the future of digital film making. He didn’t, really. What he did do is inject some lightness and humor into a crowd that, especially after Steve Jobs’ keynote address this morning introducing the stunning iPhone, might have needed reminding that these objects of desire are just gadgets, after all.
