CES Day 1 Content Newswire: AOL-Bravia; BitTorrentTV; CinemaNowPMPs; LG Combo; UrgeToshiba

Sony’s Bravia TVs To Play AOL And Yahoo Video: Starting early this year, Sony will equip its TVs with an attachable module that can stream broadband HD and other online video content such as AOL and Yahoo with the push of a remote control button. AOL release: “Using the TV’s remote control and optional module, consumers can access the Internet and simply navigate through a series of menus to browse and play free videos from AOL Video. Consumers can also easily pause, fast forward and rewind a video using the TV’s remote control.”
BitTorrent on TVs Through Netgear: BitTorrent and Netgear have tied up and Netgear’s new extender device will will find any media that is sitting on and send it over to your TV, over 802.11G wi-fi.
CinemaNow on Zoran PMPs: Zoran is launching a new OEM PMP that’s designed to party down with online movie service CinemaNow, and online music service PassAlong Networks, among other services.
Ford, Microsoft Team On ‘Sync’ Car OS: The “Sync” system allows drivers to make hands-free phone calls, listen to music on digital media players, including iPod, Zune and even USB flash drives, and have text messages read aloud. Sync will show up on a dozen Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models this fall and is planned to be an option throughout the company’s line in the 2009 model year. It is expected to cost several hundred dollars.
LG Unveils Combo HD Disc Players: As expected, LG has launched a combo Blu-Ray and HD-DVD DVD player…The BH100 player will be available in the first quarter in the U.S. and will cost around $1,199.
MTV Urges For Toshiba: Toshiba’s line of gigabeat Mp3 players will work seamlessly with MTV URGE…
