Our EconSM Conference Site: Live Now; Early Registration Around Jan 15th

imageWe’ve been telling you about our first-ever conference — Economics of Social Media on April 26th, Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles — for a while and now we can share more of the details via the new conference website. The site is still a work in progress. We’re working on the mechanics and hope to launch early bird registration around January 15th.
The program we have chalked out is here; we’ll keep refining it based on the feedback we get from you and the constantly evolving social media scene. Our plan is to look at how the various sectors we follow on our sites intersect with social media: traditional media, Hollywood, marketing, music and games, nanomedia, mobile media, public media, etc. In essence, we want to cover the process, tools, business models, and deals — and all of this in a day. The program tries to reflect that, as well as our goal of including participants in the planning. We have two TBD sessions that we’ll ask you to help frame in the weeks ahead.
The speaker recruitment process is underway: those already on board include Ken Stern, CEO, NPR; Simon Assaad, CEO, Heavy.com; and Jason Hirschhorn, president, Sling Media Entertainment Group. Our longtime supporter The Jordan, Edmiston Group was the first sponsor on board and we’re looking forward to adding to the list.
