Phillips International, a B2B trade media firm focused on the investment marketplace, has sold off its Phillips Investment Resources division to Avista Capital Partners, the same PE firm that bought Star Tribune newspaper last month from McClatchy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1974, Rockville, Maryland based Phillips Investment Resources provides investment advice mainly through e-mail newsletters as well as websites. Newsletters include: Louis Navellier’s Blue Chip Growth and Tobin Smith’s ChangeWave Investing, among others. A full list of its online portfolio is here.
