HBO is doing what it hasn’t done in U.S. yet, at least to this extent: it has tied up with SK Telecom for a mobile VOD venture, and is offering episodes of hit series including “Six Feet Under” and “Sex and the City.” The launch is kicking off with a free one-month trial period that began Dec. 22, featuring four free episodes of both series.
HBO has a similar deal in Europe with Vodafone. In addition, HBO makes episodes from the first year of a select group of series, including “Entourage,” available exclusively to Cingular Wireless users in the U.S.
