Naukri.com has launched recruiter blogs in beta. Management consultant Gautam Ghosh spotted ’em (link via Desipundit) and has blogged about it.
I went through the blogs up at Naukri, and people have either copypasted the text related to the jobs on offer or from the ‘about us‘ page of their respective companies.
Commenting on Ghosh’s post, Naukri CEO Sanjeev Bikhchandani says that the ‘make your own recruitment blog’ was launched in beta to test the waters, and it’s better to be early with such a product than late. Are they planning to offer assistance to recruiters who want to blog?
Ghosh, also a blogging consultant, offers his services and adds:
Goes to prove that HR and Recruiters should really learn more about branding, specially in the Web 2.0 world. Employee communication and prospective employee communication is not too different from customer communication. How well people ‘get’ social media in HR and Staffing/recruiting/resourcing groups will determine how well they link to the next generation workforce.
What’s Web 2.0? In comparison, Monster India also has blogs – this time, allowing just about anyone to create and account and post. It’s like any other blogging platform. I would say that Naukri’s is more targeted, though it also needs work – these blogs are meant to be topical, and representative of the companies that the recruiters work for. Randomness will take away from the credibility that both Monster and Naukri Blogs should look at fostering.
