Namco is offering free trials of its mobile games on Sprint, based on the idea that a significant portion of gamers want to trial a few games a week to work out what they like before settling on a purchase. The trials are offered via Namco’s customized portal in the Sprint Game Lobby, as well as on the web and via SMS. The games don’t have the full functionality of the sale versions. This sort of thing is needed and kudos to Sprint and Namco for trying it, but the wording in the release makes it sound like it’s a temporary thing…it’s being promoted as part of Sprint’s 12 days of power shopping.
