Motorola has plans to buy digital video technology company Tut Systems for about $39 million to bolster its video business. The acquisition of Tut, which specializes in encoding, processing and distributing digital video, would help enable Motorola’s service provider customers to deliver advanced, IPTV-based video services, it said.
After completion of the transaction (expected Q1 next year), Tut will be integrated into the Motorola Connected Home Solutions business. Some more details in the release.
