TutorVista Receives Additional $3.75 Million Funding From Sequoia, Silicon Valley Bank

Besides $7 million venture funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Indian online edutaion company TutorVista has received an additional sum of $3.75 million from Sequoia Capital India and Silicon Valley Bank, reports The Economic Times. Sequoia has put in $3 million while SV Bank has invested $0.75 million. Now the total funding in the second round would go up to $10.75 million.
The Bangalore-based company had received $2 million in the first round of funding from Sequoia early this year. On Monday, Lightspeed announced that it would invest $7 million in the second round. TutorVista has so far received $12.75 million in two rounds.
TutorVista plans to enter the Korean and Chinese markets for English language teaching, and also plans to provide online coaching for students for entrance exams in India.
