Axiom Entertainment’s Axiom.TV plans to launch the beta version of its “family-friendly” movie download service Jan. 8 with the consumer launch planned for Feb. 1. The Michigan company, founded in 1998, focuses on multiplatform entertainmet distrubution. This service is meant to appeal to kids who want download access to movies and parents who want some kind of parental control. The tagline: “We preview your films so you don’t have to.” Axiom.TV will be the first movie download service on VeriSign’s new “Intelligent Content Delivery System Network” based on the P2P Kontiki platform it acquired for $62 million last March.
