Continuing the reallocation of responsibilities in the wake of David Zaslav’s departure from NBC Universal to CEO of Discovery, Jean-Briac (J.B.) Perrette has been promoted to president, digital distribution, NBCU, from SVP-new media distribution and CFO, NBC Universal Cable. Perrette’s new responbilities are wide: distribution of television content across multiple digital platforms, including interactive television, wireless, on-demand and IPTV and he will be the “primary lead” for NBCU content discussions with portals, wireless carriers, emerging digital companies, and nontraditional customers.
Perrette joined NBC in 2000, playing leading roles in the acquisition of Bravo and the integration of the NBC and Vivendi Universal cable nets. He’ll report to George Kliavkoff, chief digital officer, on matters digital. He also will lead strategic partnerships and manage NBCU’s investments in various cable nets (Sundance, A&E, National Geographic International, NBC Weather Plus) and in that capacity will report to Jeff Zucker, CEO, NBC Universal Television Group.
Reporting to Perrette: Michael Bonner, VP-New Media Distribution; Salil Dalvi, VP-Wireless; Ronald Lamprecht, VP-New Media Distribution, and Stacy Melle, VP-VOD Marketing. Release.
