Douglas Lowenstein, President of the ESA (Entertainment Software Association), will be leaving early next year to start a new trade association. Lowenstein has spent the last twelve years as the head of the ESA and has led the company through some interesting times. During his tenure, the association has seen profit increases, company expansion and the launch of many successful programs. Speaking about his time with the ESA, Mr. Lowenstein had the following to say:
“I have been honored to represent the amazing companies of the ESA, to serve as their advocate and to be part of an industry which is having such a profound and positive effect on our culture and the world of entertainment. Like our industry, the ESA has grown and matured and is now stronger and more robust than ever before. The future of video games and its trade association is very bright indeed.”
Lowenstein will be starting a new trade association based in the investment industry, but will be staying on for long enough to ensure a smooth changing of the guard. The ESA is currently searching for an executive to replace him.
